Ten Shared Tropes in Anime and Murakami’s 1Q84: #2, “Tiny parasites/demons/gods that control a remote rural community”
Ten Shared Tropes in Anime and Murakami’s 1Q84: #1, “Moon transformation as sign that you’re in another world”
Despite your uncute, tearful face and your shortness. I still love you.
This is actually a mistranslation. The real lyric is:
Kawaikunai nakigao mo zenbu aishite ne
which means “love me, my crying face and all.” The fansubbers apparently misheard zenbu aishte ne as se mo aishteru, which is where “shortness” came from. Also she’s saying “love me” not “I love you.”
